STORY-FORMED
What we believe and what shapes our identity as a church is a story. It's a true story rooted in history and communicated through God's Word, the Bible. The biblical story includes four main acts: Creation, Fall, Redemption, and Renewal. This drama tells the story of the gospel, the good news of how God has entered human history in Jesus Christ to renew creation and redeem people from every nation, tribe, and tongue. We embrace the historic Christian faith as it's expressed in the ancient creeds of the Church (e.g., the Apostles' Creed and Nicene Creed).
We are committed to translating the historic Christian faith in ways that are comprehensible and meaningful in our diverse, contemporary setting. We don't feel the need to make the gospel relevant. Our calling is to demonstrate how it is relevant already, transcending times and places.
REFORMED
We belong to the global family of churches shaped by the Protestant Reformation of the 16th Century. This tradition is characterized by an emphasis on the goodness of creation, the centrality of the Scriptures, and the priority of God's grace in all of life, including salvation.
PRESBYTERIAN
We hold to Presbyterian church government, which means that we are elder led. It is good for churches and leaders to be connected and accountable. We also believe that the sacraments of baptism and communion not only represent God's grace, but also seal and apply that grace to our lives.
